  1. It’s not bad for you but it is the most expensive.Sweet n’Low is just as good

  2. Spenda is pretty bad. It is chemically processed sugar and it contains bleach. Natural sugar is good, but not the white, refined stuff. Go to a health food shop and get oranic dried sugar cane juice or you can also use honey.

  3. Any sort of refined sugar is bad. Not so much if it is just a little here and there. Fruits have natural sugars. Im not sure that any sugar is “healthy” for you, but natural sugar in fruits and such isnt bad in normal quanties.

  4. Use honey for a sweetener. It is natural and a little bit goes a long way. Splenda is a chemical. No chemical is good for you.

  5. I worked on the Splenda project for awhile- interesting stuff in the making of it! I like it because it tastes a lot better than the artificial stuff AND it is a sugar-based lo-cal sweetener- NOT artificial…

Here’s an interesting tidbit: The bulk of sucralose ingested does not leave the GI tract and is directly excreted in the feces. The small amount that is absorbed from the GI tract is removed from the blood stream by the kidneys and excreted in the urine. Sucralose is digestible by a number of microorganisms and is broken down once released into the environment.

  6. I think brown sugar is healthier than white

  7. Natural sugars:

    1. Unsulphored molasses

    2. Honey (natural)

    3. Stevia (powdered or liquid form)

    4. Evaporated Cane Juice

Google “stevia” to learn more about this plant. If you are looking for a white processed sugar substitute, try the evaporated cane juice.
Evaporated cane juice is a healthy alternative to refined sugar. While both sweetners are made from sugar cane, evaporated cane juice does not undergo the same degree of processing that refined sugar does. Therefore, unlike refined sugar, it retains more of the nutrients found in sugar cane. Cane juice is available throughout the year.

You can find evaporated cane juice in every health store in the sugar/baking aisle and also many regular chain groceries.
